2nd Semester Week 3: 02/20 to 02/27

This week: - hosted two in-person meetings to work on Superway project - Had 3D printed prototype of motor casing for test fitting - Stayed in contact with Central Shop and constantly updated them about any changes to our design. - Continued to keeep in contact with Neil (Central Shop Coordinator) to keep delivery date of the manufactured part by the end of March.

2nd Semester Week 2: 02/13 to 02/20

Task completed this week: - Continuously checked in with Central Shop about manufacturing cost and date of delivery

2nd Semester Week 1: 02/06 to 02/13

Task completed this week: - Spoke with central shop coordinator Neil about manufacturing our casing and axle for the motor. A rough estimate for completion of the manufacturing parts is early March. - Attended team lead meeting to update all other team leads of progress over the break.

Week 15: 11/28 - 12/5

I have heard back from a few machine shops and we have kept in contact about stock material we would like to use and their recommendations. We also consulted about how the process would work and how long it would take to manufacture the motor case. Depending on the material and specific machine shop, prices range from $600 to $1000. It would also take about an average of 2 months to manufacture all the parts the motor team needs. I have looked into more machine shops to have more options. I also learned that machine shops will purchase stock material for us at a cheaper price. Depending on which shop we proceed with, prices are going to vary.

Week 14: 11/21 - 11/28

This week consisted of Thanksgiving break. Not much was done for the first half of the week due to dedicated time for family. I am not from San Jose, so it was a bit more difficult for me to work on Spartan Superway. However, I did look into a few local machines back home. I am currently waiting for a response from those machine shops. When I got back on Monday. I checked in with Maker's Space about the request I sent in for 3D printing our motor casing prototype. There were some issues, but we were able to get it in time for our presentation 3. I also set up meeting times for our group to update each other on the progress of the project and future plans before finals and winter break begins. We also met to work on presentation 3 of our project and addressed any issues the group believe might come up in the near future.

Week 13: 11/14 - 11/21

This week I pushed for CAD designs to be completed so we may have 3D printed prototypes for our presentation after Thanksgiving break. I am part of an organization called MEP on campus and they have a 3D printer that members are able to utilize. I filled out all the necessary forms with STL files to have our parts printed. Central Shop has not replied to our inquiry and I had spoken to Dr. Furman about other shop recommendations that would mill out stock for our casing. I have also started looking into local shops and contacted a few about their services and how to proceed with what we want.

Week 12: 11/8 - 11/14

This week: -> Contacted MEP about 3D printing a prototype for our presentation after Thanksgiving. -> Contacted Central Shop on SJSU to consult a professional about the most optimal way to mill our custom case for the most. Also wanted to ask about cost and time. -> Spoke with Dr. Furman about other shop recommendations. -> Delivered controller to controls team. -> Meet with bogie interaction team to talk about spacing for our axle. -> Did an estimate for material cost Next Week and on: -> Check in on CAD team within our motor team and push for progress. -> Purchase material for our axle and case by end of the month
